My apologies to all of you following Cuerna Critters for last week’s radio silence. First, a respiratory infection took me out of the field. Then, I had to battle through winter storm ‘Titan’ to make it to a conference. (Totally worth it, by the way!) Unfortunately, all this means no new pictures. But for those still wanting their critter fix, I’ve put together some of my favorites from my last year of bug watching. I have yet to identify many of the species, so please help me out if you can!
I am a researcher working primarily in experimental and theoretical neuroscience. I like excitable cells, especially ones that burst. Sometimes I poke small animals with electrodes, other times I model neural activity. And since that rarely pays the bills, I teach math and science. I blog about neuroscience, open science and open access publishing.
